Looking for a New Job?: Recruiter Do’s & Don’t’s

Hey Again!
A lot of my friends are all looking for jobs right now and I thought I’d reach out to a friend that is a recruiter to see what they absolutely hate to help folks out!
Here are 3 things that my recruiter friend told me are absolute no no’s! You can also watch the video of this on my TikTok account here.

  1. They really despise those little graphs that breakdown all of your skillset — she told me that they are quite hard to dissect or to read sometimes. So, don’t bother.

  2. Make sure your resume and your LinkedIn profile match. While I agree with her here, sometimes its hard to remember to update that thing! But make it a priority — you don’t want that to annoy a recruiter and deter your chances of getting called.

  3. Answer phone calls or emails with some kind of response. Recruiters are swamped and often super busy and if they are taking the time out to get in touch with you, out of respect, it would be nice to just get back in touch with them. If you have a referral for them, if you’re not looking, that is extra brownie points. Remember, you never know when you’ll be looking!
