3 Things You Need to Make Sure You Have on Your LinkedIn Profile

Your LinkedIn profile is basically your online footprint. When a recruiter is looking at you for a job, that’s probably the first place they’ll look. So, I’m told. Then, they’ll see if you have a website or other social media. It’s important that you have all of these optimized and they are all looking professional.

I have some suggestions to get you there!

  1. Profile image: Try to get a professional headshot taken. If you can’t, you can set up a camera in a well-lit area in your home and take some professional “selfies” against a solid white wall and pretend that they are professional. Just wear something nice and present yourself for the job you want.

  2. Header image: You can use Canva or PicMonkey or Photoshop to design yourself a nice and professional header that represents your personality and business background. You’ll see an example below… This is what I have on my LinkedIn page. I think it looks great and adds a touch of color to your page, while also explaining who I am and what I do.

3. Headline: This part is SOOOOO important. It is basically a snapshot of who you are and will help with SEO when recruiters are searching for you. It also doesn’t hurt to include former notable positions, as well, to give you more credibility. See below what I have for mine:

Those are 3 things that you need to make sure are optimized RIGHT NOW!
