How to Contact a Recruiter

We’ve all been there and become super enthused about a gig that we’re interested in but literally don’t know what to do next.

Well, we’re in 2022, and it’s okay to contact people you don’t know. Also, what’s to lose? Will they ignore you? Okay, maybe, but at least you tried? You never know till you do just that, try.

So, you’ve found the gig you want and now you’re wanting to reach out to a recruiter or the hiring manager… here’s an email template you can follow to help get a response:

Subject: Include the job title, and your interest in APPLYING or INTEREST.

Hello ____,

I hope this message finds you well! I saw the position, ______ on _______ and I wanted to reach out because I am very interested in the role.

I know I would be a good fit for the role and would love to request time for an interview with you to discuss further. But before we do that, I’d love to detail why I’m the right person for the role:

  • state 1-3 reasons why your experience is appropriate for the role

I appreciate your time and very much look forward to hearing from you!

Best,

Your name/socials/website

Customize the above and send this to recruiters. Don’t worry, they are used to getting these but the one way to make yourself stand out is to get to the point QUICKLY and THOUGHTFULLY.

Good luck! If you use this and it works, feel free to send me an email and let me know ;)

If you’re struggling with LinkedIn and struggling with using it to get a new gig, I can help you… Book a FREE discovery call with me today!
