I moved to Mexico and here’s what happened
Hi! I’m Nick — we’re trying something a little different here. Those that know me, know I have loved and lived in big cities for half of my life. For 9 years, I called Los Angeles, particularly West Hollywood home. Then, after that 9 year stint — I packed up everything I had and moved to New York City.
A few things happened after that that kind of changed my life forever. In November of 2019, shortly after I moved to NYC, I got the worst call of my life. My mom had suddenly left us. What’s crazy is I hadn’t heard from her in a while but I was so consumed with my crazy job at the time I didn’t think anything of it. Ever since, I vowed to never take work that seriously and let it overtake me. She passed away from a massive heart attack, according to doctors and the examiner.
To say that I was forever changed is an understatement. We were extremely close.
So needless to say my life really was kind of a mess after she passed but I told myself that I was going to start living more for not only ME, but HER, too. She had a hard life and didn’t really get to do much because we were poor and she was disabled toward the end of her life so it was harder for her to get around.
So in order to do that, I started traveling more. My love for traveling really picked up and I was always on a damn plane. LOL! Mostly around the US but I found myself going to Puerto Vallarta and falling in love with the city.
I knew I’d be back after visiting a couple times. And, that’s where we are now…
The journey has been good so far and I’m excited to get back into making content. I’m excited to go on this journey and I’m excited to talk more about it because I know there’s someone else out there feeling lost and wanting to get out of their situation. We must not be afraid of change!
My mother used to always tell me she wanted peace and wanted me to be happy — so I must live for her and live in that vein now. Nothing in my space that isn’t that. So, follow me on Instagram, YouTube, and Threads. For now, that’s mainly where I will be conversing with y’all. And, here for course.
My inbox is also open if you ever want to email me — nick AT nickguillory DOT com. I look forward to having you on my journey.
